Mazda 323F GT
CRUISE CONTROL
Here
I've tried to summarise what was done to install subj into 323F.
For
now it's a basic explanation of what was done. Unfortunately there is no anything
for 323F in production however I was surprised how close could be 626 and
323 sometimes. Unfortunately Mazda don't bother in using same wire colour
codes not even on different models but even my 323F in reality didn't match
a manual so had to think a lot of times before connecting (especially ground
and +12V wires).
Parts
that required:
1.
Vacuum device with throttle cable and vacuum cable.
2.
Main CC CPU unit
3.
Main CC CPU unit power switch
4.
Controls for CC - in my case it was a joystick
5.
Throttle pedal.
There
is a special contra-weight steel barrel attached to the upper end of the pedal
to balance it and make it easier for Vacuum device to move the pedal.
What
was done:
1.
Pedal ramp had to be changed. Throttle pedal was replaced by 626 one with
a lot of careful welding work.

2.
Some mounts should be created for vacuum device to attach it inside the engine
compartment. Also you will need to move few petrol pipes to free up space.
3.
A new support mount was created for throttle cable because it's should be
moved aside and due to different length (new pedal).
4.
Vacuum device pedal cable attached to pedal.
5.
Vacuum device attached to engine free vacuum socket

6.
A Main CC CPU unit installed somewhere inside dashboard and connected to vacuum
unit
7.
Main CPU power switch installed and connected to CPU

8.
Need to find the place where to install CC controls and connect it to CPU.
I was not able to find better place than this one

9.
There is one thing left. CPU also should be connected to the dashboard wires
to receive data about current speed. There is a speed sensor on a dashboard
which should be connected to CC CPU (shown on a pic connected by wire)..

Also
there are two other connections to CC CPU unit:
1.
To Clutch pedal sensor
2.
To Brake pedal sensor
They
are required to stop the system when you touch Clutch or Brake pedals. If
you will push throtle it's OK and after you will release it (for example after
overtaking) speed again returns to preset one.
This
is electric diagram to show all connections:

PS:
colour codes could be different for your car.
It's
a bit old type system - it's moving not throttle but pedal itself which I
found a bit funny. Also vacuum device producing a funny noise - sounds like
somebody smacking so I am calling this Smacking Control system
