I've always said that I'll not install any music into my car...blah blah blah.... Had a wee crappy radio for less than 10$ for last 5 years and suddenly... it appears that I can't listen my home records and watch DVD loud only because... family not letting me ?... :( And finished with this. Two weeks of work, money spent..., miles of wires and work still not finished yet. Requires a lot of adjustments for correct sound scene but anyway... it's very loud now guys :)

First of all my basic idea was a flexibility - I should be able to quickly dissasemble and remove everything from a car to free up all possible space for cargo. Second basic idea was a security - there should be hidden as much as possible so everything should be mounted in a boot.

Created a false wall behind hte rear seats to mount everything. Covered it using reflective plastic from one side.

Replaced head unit with cheap Hyundai DVD/CD/MP3 receiver. Picked it up only because it had 5 discrete RCA outputs so there is no need for an external expensive sound processor, it has build in Dolby Digital decoder, and it's not expensive (and working well as well).

Correct power supply took a lot of time to setup. Had to rebuild main wires under the hood, completely replaced ground wires, added a power distributor with extra fuses. All contacts are gold plated and main power wire to sound system is silver plated, can hold up to 200Amp current. As a result got main system voltage increased by 0.8 volts only because of renewed wires and ground.

Replaced rear speakers with JBL GTO 2way10cm ones - they suppose to provide only rear channels so not so important.

Main sound system built using two amplifiers - one monoblock Blaupunkt GTA1300 (750Watt max) to power the Pioneer free air subwoofer head and 4 channel amp Magnat Classic 4000XL (4x120Watt max) - 2 channels for rear speakers and 2 for front (planned to be used a three component Herz accoustic - not setup yet). Power provided through distributors, three separate fuses and can be quickly disconnected using plugs. Blaupunkt amp powered through power cell Art Sound 0.5F for current stability.

With rear seats down all this stuff can be seeing, seats up and everything is hidden even from my wife :). There are still works need to be done to clean up all wires, set a interior lights, add some finish look, cover sub from behind and setup front acoustics however even right now the sound is impressive :)

Front speakers were replaced by Focal Access 165 V1 two component units. Really like how they sounds, compared with a lot of Alpines, Hertzs, Magnats, Vibes etc before choosing them. Midbasses were mounted into original placeholders in doors and tweeters been placed on both sides of centre dash pointing to the side windows working using reflection from the glass.

It took a lot of time to point the speakers correctly to get a wide and correct music scene with most instrumets playing in front of you on a bonnet. X-overs been hidden inside the cental dash behind the TV screen.

Finaly can watch right now DVD concerts (LCD monitor 5.6 inch mounted on an additional dash now and possible roof mounted monitor in plans) with unlimited surround sound :)

Did a few test rides with all system on and realised that can't hear engine anymore when music is loud so it makes difficult to gearshift now. Thought to install a separtate shift light but managed to get a tacho with build in shift light for the same money so installed it.

Also installed a second battery in a boot just in case if I'll forget and discharge the main one completely - just to have possibility to always start the car.

2006 Added few nice touches like Soundstream spider and neon net.
