My grand-pa, Garry Pavlovitch didn't like to recall the days of WW2, so everything that I know about him, it's from my mom.

As I sad he was a scout. He was a big man in every meanings with explosion and gentle temper at the same time. He always gave to people everything that have and something more from even his family. My grand mom Vera always shout at him for this and tell him: Those people never remember you when you'll need the help. But he helped me to understand and learn how to make good for people not waiting the same from them.

So, my grand pa was a scout - very specific military profession like sniper. One story I learned from my grand mom and from newspaper of those days.

It was a summer of 1944. The platoon commanded by my grand pa was in a deep reconnaissance of enemy positions. More than three days EIGHT people were on the occupied territory. They collected all necessary information and returned to the base. They are successfully cross the front line and suddenly spot the germans landing force - near 60 people. They made their way to the nearest bridge and command post in village not far from it. My grand pa decided to divert the enemy. He sent two people from his platoon to deliver the information and to call the reinforcement. And with the rest of the platoon (6) they suddenly attacked the germans.

The battle continued more than four hours. Grand pa used his good knowledge of district. After four hours of battle they have only one man seriously wounded and had killed or wounded near 30 germans. Then (the two man from his platoon called the reinforcement) the place of battle were attacked by the aviation. The bombers were confused and drop the bombson the rest of my grand pa's platoon.

My grand pa was wounded two times. It was his first and seriously injuring. He was contused by the explosion of our bomb. Thanks the god, the aviation noticed their mistake and transfer the attack to the germans.

This battle was described at the news (I have a newspaper with article) and my grand pa was rewarded with Red Star order. That is one story about my grand pa, Barbaumov Garry Pavlovich, who finished the war in Reighshtag (top line, from right to left. grand pa is 4-th near statue). The one, from millions people that gave me a chance (maby) simply to live
